Dos maneras de decir la hora
El inglés dice la hora de dos formas: la digital (seven thirty) y la tradicional, que usa past hasta la media y to después.
“7:30 → seven thirty / half past seven”
Hasta y media se dice past; después, to y la hora siguiente.

Past y To
PAST — primera media hora
8:20 → twenty past eight.
Se cuentan los minutos que ya pasaron de la hora actual.
TO — segunda media hora
8:50 → ten to nine.
Se cuentan los minutos que faltan para la hora siguiente.
Con «to» la hora que se nombra es la siguiente, no la actual.
